Environment & Responsibility: Our 8-Point Plan

As a supplier of non-food products to retailers across Europe, Grizzly Tools GmbH & Co. KG is committed to responsible business practices and continuous improvement. We focus on developing our own processes, working responsibly with our partners and continuously reviewing opportunities to improve our environmental and social practices. This applies to our headquarters in Großostheim as well as to our cooperation with manufacturing partners worldwide.

We regularly review our operations and implement measures aimed at improving resource efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions where possible. Our activities focus on areas such as energy and resource use, mobility, packaging, supply chain processes and internal operations.

Our 8-point plan provides an overview of selected measures and ongoing initiatives within our company.

1. Our Site: Energy & Resource Efficiency

Energy and resource efficiency were considered during the planning of our headquarters in Großostheim in 2015.

Today, energy-efficient lighting, modern heating technology and additional technical solutions support the operation of our facilities. We continuously review our infrastructure and internal processes to identify further opportunities for improvement.

2. FSC®-Certified Packaging Materials

For selected product packaging applications, we use FSC®-certified paper.

The FSC® certification system defines requirements for materials originating from responsibly managed sources and considers environmental, social and economic criteria. When selecting packaging materials, we consider recognised certification systems such as FSC® and review opportunities to further develop our packaging solutions.

3. Electric & Hybrid Company Vehicles

Mobility is an important part of our daily business operations.

Our company vehicle fleet includes electric and hybrid vehicles. These vehicles are part of the ongoing development of our mobility approach and related infrastructure.

4. Employee Mobility & Flexible Working

We provide our employees with options that support flexible working arrangements and mobility solutions.

Through our JobRad programme, employees have the opportunity to use bicycles and e-bikes for commuting.

Where suitable for the respective role, mobile working options are also available.

5. Spare Parts Service: Supporting Product Longevity

Supporting the longer use of products is an important element of our service approach.

Through our spare parts service, we enable repairs where technically feasible and support the continued use of products. The availability of spare parts can help extend product use and avoid unnecessary replacements.

6. Responsibility in Our Supply Chain

We consider social and environmental requirements when selecting and working with manufacturing partners.

Many of our manufacturing partners in the Far East are assessed according to the amfori BSCI framework and operate environmental management systems certified according to ISO 14001.These assessments and management systems support the implementation of defined requirements relating to working conditions and environmental management.

We continuously work on improving supply chain transparency and regularly review our requirements for business partners.

7. Transparency through EcoVadis

To support a structured review of our sustainability-related management practices, we participate in the EcoVadis assessment.

Selected environmental, social and ethical aspects of our management approach are evaluated externally.

The results help us identify improvement opportunities and further develop our internal processes.

8. Greenhouse Gas Accounting & Climate Strategy Development

For the past three years, we have calculated our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions together with ClimatePartner.

We are currently expanding our greenhouse gas inventory to include Scope 3 emissions in cooperation with Fjol GmbH, a consultancy specialising in climate accounting and climate strategies.

Based on the results of this work, we are preparing the submission of our climate targets for validation by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Submission is planned for autumn 2026.

Our climate strategy is developed with consideration of current scientific knowledge and recognised approaches to climate action.
